Heinrich Albert (1870-1950) Albert's music is of the German-Viennese tradition and could easily pass for compositions written decades earlier, and sounds great on period guitars. Also interesting is the fact that terz guitar, Staufer-style instruments, and multi-bass / harp guitars, as well as music by Mertz and other mid to late 19th century composers, were all very active in Germany until easily the 1920's. Albert is also known for his method, arrangements, teaching, and guitar quartet.
